The Quileute Nation and its people play a major role in the Twilight stories. We all know and love Jacob and the rest of the wolfpack, regardless of whether or not we're on Team Edward or Team Jacob. Yet many of the people living in La Push struggle to make ends meet, and the school - Jacob's school - needs funds to help support its students and their education.
After reading a NY Times article on the Quileute Wolf Pack website (http://quileutewolfpack.com/newsblog/?p=2983), I felt compelled to do something, anything. But what? I've never done anything like this before and didn't know where to start. Eventually, I took a page out of the books themselves; like the Third Wife from the Quileute bonfire stories in Eclipse, I decided to do something, however little it may be, to help out however I could. Education has been a very important part of my family's background for many decades, so I decided to begin with the school.
After several emails, I got a web address of a site the school has set up to receive donations: http://www.firstgiving.com/takebackthetwilight. I made a donation, but felt that there was more I could do. I brainstormed with a friend and came up with several ideas. This store is one of them. From here, I will sell the items I find or make that have to do with the Twilight books, characters, or people involved with the stories. All profits from all of the sales will go directly to the Quileute Tribal School via their FirstGiving donations page. Please feel free to visit that page and make a direct donation yourself!
